Madison IN - 3/15/2017

c/n 69644, b/d 8/1943

- built as NC&StL #30
- became L&N 2150
- to US Navy as 65-00610, Crane #6
- rebuilt (Maxon?)
- renumbered as 65-00530(2nd), Crane #10
- to Madison RR as CMPA-10
Note on Identity
"Interesting fact about the Navy is they always stamp the 65-00000 number on the striker castings behind the coupler." - Roger Fuehring, Madison RR.
When Crane 4 & 10 were acquired by the Madison RR they examined the striker casting on each unit. On #4 they found 65-00620 which matches the USN number on the unit. On #10 they found 65-00610, not the USN number on the unit. This unit has been reported in the past to have been rebuilt from Crane #17 (65-00530) but judging from the number on the striker castings it seems to be 65-00610 (maybe rebuilt) renumbered to be 65-00530(2nd).
