The last standard line locomotive shipped from Eddystone. Completed in Dec. 1955 but withheld at Eddystone to be used as a generator for testing the New Haven RP-210. It was shipped to EMCo Oct. 1956, hence b/d 10/1956.

    - build for Monongahela as #415
    - to EMCo as #404, renumbered 7244
    - to SMS as SLRS 304,
arrived at SMS Feb. 11, 2005
"The cab of the 7244 contacted the counterweight of the pellet stacker and was destroyed. The remainder of the locomotive was not damaged. Sitting out in the deadline at the time was the 7241 with a perfectly good cab but it was bad ordered mechanically. It's cab was cut off and was in the process of being united with the 7244 when the mine was shut down (2001) and work was stopped on the project. As I recall it was ready to go except for some work on the remote control system. The number on the side of the cab was never changed (until it went to SMS) to indicate that the locomotive was essentially the 7244, at least mechanically."
